Sometimes when I look at the moon, I can't help but notice how lonely it looks and wonder, if it had feelings, is that how it would feel?As I get older and the holiday season rolls around, it seems a bit more noticeable. John Mayer says in his song, St. Patrick's Day, "No one likes to be alone at Christmas time"... John-boy was on to something.
I guess I chalk it up to the fact that I don't feel like either place, (NH or SC), is really "home". I don't "belong" in NH anymore and SC will only be where I'm at for another 2 years... then what? One day, just maybe, a travel companion will be provided. ;)
It seems most of my friends are entering relationships. It's been slightly difficult to watch and has possibly added to my confusion in a significant way. As I was processing just last week, a friend said to me, "If they were or are the right person, wouldn't there be more clarity?" She's right I think... Wouldn't I know? If so, there is nothing now. There is no clarity and I'm left to "Expect the worst and Hope for the Best."
It's not always the best or most fun place to be...
Hey Aubrey, I feel ya there. It's hard to watch friends like someone who likes them back, date, get engaged, get married, have babies, etc., and feel like a homeless lone-ranger...at the same time I don't envy those, equally numerous, who go through a lot of confusion, break up, etc.
ReplyDeleteanyway, stand strong, there are a lot of us still single :)
YES!!!!... someone who understands! ;) Thanks for the encouragement Rachelle, it means a lot...
ReplyDeletei tihnk i cna kinda understad where you're coming from.
ReplyDeleteAlthough i am the other side, i;m in a relationship, i havent always been...
I know that it is sometimes wierd to see your friends getting all happy, and you wish wit all your being that you can be like that, you can find what they seem to have, you can look the way they look, and so therefore you can feel what them and their partner so obviously feel...
i just wanna encourage you to keep waiting and searching...
I did, and it happened to me

Sup Aubs,
ReplyDeleteI don't know. I just don't know. Everybody has their answers to your question. Some say "you just know it" and others say "it just happens" and still others say "just find somebody and get married." They make it sound so simple... I don't have a clue how these things happen and what not. I don't know if you need more clarity---that seems like the last thing anybody has in these situations, and when they do have clarity it just seems to be more emotional blindness than anything. Anyway, I'm still single :) and who knows, I might be this way for a long while now. Take care, Aubs. I'll toss up a prayer for you.
